These photographs are the first in
Venezuela to disclose this important natural monument, will become one of the
icons in Venezuela.
The waterfall El Chorro de Rosario de
Perija, with a free fall of water of 237 meters, is among the largest
waterfalls in the country and the highest in western Venezuela.
This stunning waterfall, tucked between
the mountains of the Sierra de Perija, joins the well known Angel Falls with
979 meters (Estado Bolívar), The Chorros de Cura with 821 meters (Aragua
State), Yutaje Falls with 715 meters (Amazonas State) and Cuquenan Falls with
674 meters (Bolivar State).
In the western region, after The
waterfall El Chorro de Rosario de Perija, stands out the Cascade del Vino with
90 meters (Lara State) and the India waterfall with 60 meters (Merida State).
The waterfall El Chorro de Rosario de
Perija stands as an outstanding new tourist destination, within the vision of
the ECOparks developed by the Blue Environmentalists Foundation and sponsored
by the Governor Francisco Arias Cárdenas, standing out as one of the sites of
the Ecotourism Park "Cogollo River", which protects 2,000 hectares of
natural territory of high potential water, geological and wildlife.
According to the environmentalist and
Unique Environment Authority of Zulia State, Lenin Cardozo, "with this
contribution in hectares of the Ecotourism Park" Rio Cogollo "the
Regional Government increases its number of protected natural areas and
arranged for the public to enjoy to 15 thousand hectares, placing 40 square
meters per person targeted areas for recreation and relaxation and positions
the municipality of Rosario de Perija in 202.6 meters per person, making the agricultural
municipality of Zulia, also in the large municipality Park of the region. "
"These pictures are the first in
Venezuela to disclose this important natural monument, which is sure to become
one of the regional icons whenever we talk of Zulia," said
environmentalist Lenin Cardozo.
