Gypsies or solar nomads

Under the maxim: You live where the work is, many workers in the solar industry move with their trailers or trailers to the different photovoltaic projects where they are hired.

Normally, they come as a couple and seek to park their trailers in areas that they rent, equipped for these vehicles. Some places have facilities for the use of electricity and water. In general, these places have public bathrooms, with showers, since most trailers do not have bathrooms inside.

The average daily rent in these campsites is $30.

Even though it's cheaper than renting a small apartment or house locally, it's still a hefty monthly payment.

They do not always have exactly a trailer or motorhome. There are many who simply use a normal vehicle and manage as best they can.

It is a whole lifestyle.

Likewise, for work reasons, I was in a photovoltaic project in a remote Aboriginal community in the Province of New Brunswick and there was nothing nearby to live in and I was lucky that an Aboriginal worker offered me a small trailer that he had in a land adjacent to his house, there he had a bench to sleep on and a small table. It had no electricity and no bathroom. I planned to only use the restrooms at a nearby community center during the day and became an expert in canned foods. By the way, he had to be very careful not to leave food scraps outside the trailer due to the nocturnal visits of the bears.

It lasted two months there.
