Venezuelan Biological Station will study the effect of climate change in the rain forests and coastal forests

Rancho Grande Biological Station, located in Henry Pittier Park in the city of Maracay, Aragua State and the Pueblos de Agua a Biological Station (http://www.azulambientalistas.org/estacionbiologica.html), located at the Centro de Educación Popular in Santa Rosa de Agua in the city of Maracaibo, Zulia State, have agreed to study the effects of climate change on the rain forest and coastal forests, this is in its first phase in the West Central region of the country.
Its Directors engineers Pedro Delgado and Lenin Cardozo stated that this initiative also aims to call upon the schools and / or faculties of science, environmental forestry to adopt this proposal. They invite, researchers who are studying climate change in different regions of America, to contribute to the common cause and together build a diagnostic for understanding the true impact of this climatic phenomenon on the continent.
Thus, it is proposed to develop research programs on biodiversity associated with the mangrove coast of Lake Maracaibo Basin and the coast of Aragua, the rain forests of the Sierra de Perija and Henry Pittier Park. Indepth studies on migration, biology, bird censuses, that foster an exchange of researchers, students and visitors between the two biological stations. The intent is to develop new understandings of ecological interpretation in both aquatic and terrestrial areas, among other activities.
To acknowledge and recognize, the growing interest manifested everyday in digital media, social networks, newspapers, radio and television, by allowing citizens to be informed and aware of the environmental contingencies that we are experiencing in the region. By Lenin Cardozo / Edith Reiger
