Waiting for the sun like sunflowers

Every morning the sunflowers follow the movement of the Sun on its route from East to West. At night they do it again in the opposite direction to wait for their departure in the morning of the next day.

It is a very efficient system for their development, as it allows them to make the most of sunlight, which is vital for their photosynthesis, while promoting the production of auxin, their "growth hormone".

Photovoltaic tracking systems to achieve the maximum performance of their solar panels or modules have rightly been inspired by the characteristic heliotropism of sunflowers.

These systems are designed so that their solar panels "wait" for the Sun in the mornings facing East, and follow it until they finally end up facing West. Maximizing the solar irradiation they receive during their rotation.

The sunflower is the flower that, together with the Sun and the solar panels, symbolizes photovoltaic energy
